We are losing three board members. Thanks to those who offered to fill two of the slots. We still need someone to to please step up and volunteer for the Professional Development Chair. If you are willing or you know another interpreter that might be willing, it would be greatly appreciated if you could contact Cathy Copeland, MRID President at email@example.com
The MRID board would like to formally congratulate Cindy Chambers of Billings for earning the Flo McCollum Scholarship worth $1,000. Cindy demonstrated an exceptional commitment to her continuing education goals. Her dedication to serving Deaf students in Montana is greatly appreciated. Thank you, Cindy, for all your hard work!
To all who participated in the MRID scholarship awarding process, including Cathy and Katie,
I want to thank you for this opportunity to take part in the TIPS training and NAIE conference. I would not have been able to afford this learning experience on my own and sincerely needed the scholarship funding. The financial help has been more than I hoped for and so much appreciated. I had been looking for a program to expand my skills and this seems like a perfect fit. I will keep you posted on my "successes"!
The only members of MRID I have met are Cathy and Annie but have been communicating by email to Katie. I feel like you are all amazing people and very supportive. I am certain I can learn so much from you.
I intend to work hard and appreciate the confidence you have shown in me by awarding me this scholarship.
Thank you so much,
A Special Offer for Montana Interpreters interested in Mental Health Interpreting
A message from Alabama's Mental Health Interpreter Training Project:
Since we started 14 years ago, MHIT's Interpreter Institute has trained nearly 1,000 people from all over the United States and several other countries.
Interpreters from 48 of the 50 US states have attended. Only Alaska and Montana have not had a representative attend the MHIT Interpreter Institute. We want to color in the whole map, so we are making you an offer you can't refuse!
The first person from any of the states mentioned above can get their registration at the lowest rate we offer anyone: $165 alumni early bird rate. This offer is good to the first(a) person from Alaska and Montana to get their completed application and payment to ODS(b): That is nearly 60% off full price for first-time attendees(c).
It’s an offer you can’t refuse!
(a) As determined by postmark or timestamp.
(b) Application must meet acceptance criteria for the Institute
(c) based on full-price rate of $425 for first time attendees after May 31st.
Dates are July 31-August 4, 2017. Go to www.mhit.org for more information.
